Ahmed Khatib, MD, FACP was born in Jordan, of Jordanian/Lebanese parents. He graduated from the University of Perugia, College of Medicine, in Italy in 1976. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine, and he served as Chief Resident at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown/Temple University in Pennsylvania. Thereafter, he earned his Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He practiced solo Gastroenterology for 22 years in Glasgow, Kentucky, prior to his relocation to Naples, Florida. He served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Louisville, Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky Medical School. He held an appointment as Adjunct Clinical Professor of Gastroenterology at the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Khatib is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He has achieved Fellowship with the American College of Physicians. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Society, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology. He treats a variety of digestive and liver diseases, and he is skilled in various endoscopic procedures to include colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. He has a special interest in Capsule Endoscopy. Dr. Khatib is a member of the staff at Naples Community Hospital.
